Monster High SDCC 2016 Robecca Steam and Father Hexiciah Dolls 2-Pack

Monster High SDCC 2016 Robecca Steam and Father Hexiciah

Monster High has just announced on their Facebook page that Robecca Steam and Father Hexiciah Steam will be this year’s San Diego Comic Con exclusives. The father/daughter 2-pack is new for the Monster High doll line and I think it’s a really exciting addition to the SDCC exclusive Monster High family. After last year’s villain theme I’m excited to see what 2016 holds.

Robecca is not a character that Monster High has given a lot of attention to so it’s neat to see her chosen for this year’s feature. From the photo above (which you can click to view larger) it looks like she has a metallic golden bronze skin tone, which is completely unique to her. Robecca wears a blue top hat with gears and has bright blue hair. Her dress is blue and magenta with a gear print as well. On the whole she has a very steampunk feel to her, but without a lot of the Victorian flair that steampunk is known for (the dress, for example, could be more elaborate). I’m very interested in seeing her up close, but I do feel that the color scheme is a bit much for me.

Hexiciah Steam (great name) is Robecca’s father and will come with her in this 2-pack. I think a father/daughter or family line of Monster High dolls would be amazing and so I hope that this isn’t just a one time thing for SDCC. Hexiciah has a handlebar mustache and an amazing steampunk meets 1920s vibe. His face sculpt is quite striking and he is completely different than any of the other mansters that have been released so far (with the possible exception of his body double, SDCC 2014 exclusive Manny Taur). He has one robotic arm (Full Metal Alchemist, anyone?) and it looks like his socks and shoes may be molded and not removable. His vest and tie match Robecca’s outfit and he has a tool belt. Since Hexiciah is a human (cyborg) who made Robecca in the late 19th century (the 1800s) the old timey barber shop look makes sense.

What do you all think of this new SDCC exclusive? Will you be hunting this 2-pack down or passing on it? Let me know in the comments!

    • Hello! You can pre-order it but you have to be able to pick it up at SDCC in California this summer. Alternatively, if you aren’t going, you can get them on eBay. Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions!
